Mission Statement:
Youth and Family Ministry Committee shall be responsible for nurturing the youth and families of the congregation in Christian living and for overseeing the congregation’s ministry of and for the youth and families of this congregation. To carry out this responsibility, the committee shall:
- Together, with the Education Committee, set specific worship, education, service, recreation and fellowship goals for youth.
- Promote the use of Lutheran camps and encourage participation of youth in camping programs in our region.
- Encourage and involve all congregation members in the total youth ministry program, with special emphasis on parental involvement.
- Develop and update the position description for the staff person related to youth and family ministry.
- Oversee the development of youth leadership training.
- Develop and implement a program for maintaining relationships with church youth in college and military service.
- Coordinate a youth evangelism program with the evangelism committee.
- Encourage the use of the talent of youth in the overall program of the congregation.
- Annually analyze youth programs, facilities, and equipment, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Submit to the Administration Committee, in appropriate form and at the time requested, a budget request for the coming year’s work
