Stewardship

 

Mission statement:

Stewardship Committee shall be responsible for the development of good stewardship attitudes within the congregation. The Financial Secretary of the congregation shall relate to the Stewardship Committee. To carry out these responsibilities, the committee shall:

    • Study the Scriptural principles regarding Christian stewardship and share these with the congregation
    • Practice personal stewardship and lead the congregation by setting a good example.
    • Encourage and promote good stewardship of time, talents and treasures.
    • Survey and maintain records of the interests and talents of the congregational members.
    • Insure accurate records are kept of member contributions and appropriate reporting is made to the congregational members.
    • Plan and implement a year-round stewardship program that will ensure the financial stability of the congregation and its work through dedicated, proportionate, joyful giving.
    • Contact and encourage new members to practice good stewardship of their time, talent and treasures.
    • Work with the Administration Committee and Church Council in long-range financial planning beyond the current budgeting process.
    • Submit to the Administration Committee, in appropriate form and at the time requested, a budget request for the coming year’s work.
    • Implement a congregation-wide stewardship program that emphasizes the basics of biblical, proportionate, and joy-filled giving.
