• Supervise the existing agencies for Christian education (Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Catechetic, etc.) and establish additional agencies when this seems advisable.
• Review the existing agencies, curriculum, and participation of the membership, making revisions and recommendations as deemed necessary.
• Encourage increasing participation of every congregation member in Bible study, whether in home-based small groups or in classes taught by the Pastor or church staff.
• Foster communication between small group Bible studies and the Pastor.
• Enlist, train and support teachers and staff.
• Establish a system of commendations for and recognition of faithful service in the area of Christian education.
• Strengthen families as the basic unit of Christian education and relate the congregational agencies to the home.
• With the Pastor, establish the criteria for approving confirmation candidates and supervise the arrangements for the Rite of Confirmation.
• Together, with the Youth Committee set specific worship, education, service, recreation and fellowship goals for youth.
• Study with the Pastor, the issues of Communion for children in the congregation and make recommendations to the Church Council.
• Evaluate the education opportunities for persons with special needs and provide additional, appropriate opportunities when necessary.
• Establish and maintain a process for encouraging youth and adults to consider entering a church vocation.
• Annually examine education facilities and equipment, making recommendations to the Property Committee for repair, replacement and new purchases.
• Appoint a Library Coordinator who shall maintain, improve, and cultivate the use of the church library.
• Publicize and encourage support of the mission programs of the church.

Submit to the Administration Committee, in appropriate form and at the time requested, a budget request for the coming year’s work.
