Administration
Mission Statement:
Administration Committee shall be responsible for the financial, personnel, and the ongoing planning concerns of the congregation. The Church President and Treasurer shall relate to this committee. To carry out this responsibility this committee shall:
- Plan and implement procedures for sound fiscal management of all organizations and ministries of the congregation.
- Ensure the accurate reporting of the congregation’s financial activities to the Church Council and the congregation. This shall include facilitating an annual audit.
- Recommend adequate insurance coverage of all kinds to the Church Council.
- Monitor the invested assets of the congregation and make recommendations to the Church Council when appropriate.
- Receive annually and act upon budget requests from each committee of the congregation.
- Prepare an annual budget for submission to the Church Council for congregational approval.
- Review annually the performance of each church staff member and offer appropriate recommendations.
- Develop and update the position descriptions of the Church Secretary and the Certified Lay Minister.
- Receive annually updated position descriptions for church staff members from the committee to which they relate.
- With the Church Council, make an annual determination as to the staff positions needed to carry out the mission of the congregation.
- To the Church Council, make an annual recommendation as to the compensation and benefit packages for each church staff member.
- Receive and review a monthly report from each committee chair on the activities of the committee, issues needing council review, and motions needing council approval.
- Plan agenda for each church council meeting and with the input of the church council, an agenda for the annual meeting.
- Plan and implement periodic retreats and leadership training events for the Church Council and other lay leaders in the congregation.
- With the church council, plan and implement a periodic review of the congregation’s vision for mission.
- To arrange for pastoral service during the sickness or absence of the pastor
